Bang Zoom! Studios is excited to return to Anime Expo 2026, North America’s largest anime convention, for another unforgettable celebration of voice acting, anime, and community.
Join us on Saturday, July 4, 2026, as aspiring performers take the stage for our annual Open Auditions, a live event that gives fans the opportunity to showcase their voice acting skills directly in front of industry professionals. Whether you’re stepping up to the microphone or cheering from the audience, this event is designed to bring fans closer to the art and craft behind the voices of their favorite characters.
Known for producing the English-language versions of hit series including Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, DAN DA DAN, and Sakamoto Days, Bang Zoom! Studios continues its mission of connecting passionate fans with the world of voice acting through memorable, community-driven experiences.
This year’s event will be judged live on stage by Bang Zoom! Studios Co-President and Casting Director Mami Okada alongside CEO Eric P. Sherman, with additional special guests joining throughout the program.

Step Up to the Mic
Think you have what it takes? Take your shot at a live voice acting audition in front of our casting team. Participants will perform selected material on stage and receive the opportunity to showcase their talent before industry professionals and a live audience.
Live Anime Dubbing Demo
Ever wondered what it takes to bring an anime character to life? This year we will have a special raffle for attendees who weren’t able to audition on stage. Two lucky winners will have the chance to demonstrate the dubbing process live on stage with direction from our team.
Special Guest Appearances
Throughout the event, attendees can look forward to appearances from surprise industry insiders, prolific voice actors, and other special guests who will help celebrate the voice acting community and share their experiences with fans. How do I sign up?
Pre-registration for Open Auditions will open via the link here on:
Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM PT
Due to high demand, audition slots are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive by your selected pre-registered timeslot and check-in at our table. You must be inside the Novo at your confirmed timeslot to check-in with us. Failure to arrive on time will result in your slot being forfeited entirely.
We anticipate that pre-registered slots will fill, so there will be an on-site waitlist available if you weren’t able to pre-register. Please note there is a capacity for the waitlist as well. QR codes will be available for the waitlist on-site only. Auditions will be called up on a first-come-first-serve basis after the registration form has been completed and you have checked in at our table to receive a Group Number/Letter. Signing up for the waitlist does not guarantee an audition.
Conditions for the Live Anime Dubbing raffle: This opportunity is designated for attendees who didn’t have the opportunity to come up on stage. Attendees on the waitlist will automatically be entered into the raffle. The raffle will also be open to everyone without a pre-registered audition slot, so you don’t have to sign up to audition in order to participate in the Live Anime Dubbing Demo!
The Open Auditions are open to everyone. All skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to participate!
Where is the event located?
The Novo Theater located at 800 West Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015. Doors open at 10:00 AM!
Please be aware that a line may form outside of the venue well before the designated time of the event. Please refer to the map for the exact location as it’s positioned at Anime Expo 2026.
What do I need to bring?
Bring yourself and please arrive early to secure your chance to audition! You will need to bring a valid Saturday AX Badge and ID (i.e. Driver’s License, Passport, etc) during the check-in window on the day of the audition, or bring a parent/guardian if under the age of 18. Only those who have received a valid audition number during check-in are eligible to audition on that day. No other audition materials or scripts are needed.
What’s the process like?
If you’re pre-registered, report directly to our check-in table at your selected time to be seen backstage. You must be on time to check in, or else you will miss your slot! If you couldn’t join the pre-registration and want a shot, once you’ve arrived at the venue, a QR code with the waitlist will become available outside and inside the venue. Please fill out the entire form to indicate your interest and intent to audition at the Bang Zoom! Open Auditions. With this form, you’re agreeing to having video/photo taken for future promotional purposes during the duration of the event.
After you’ve scanned the QR and registered with the form and let inside, please check-in at the registration table with our staff to receive your group number. Once assigned, you’re free to take seats and enjoy other participants’ performances until your group number is called. Once your group number is called, please line up by the wall and be ready to be escorted into the backstage. Then you will have a chance to pick a character out of several audition sides we prepared. Make sure to give it all once you’re on stage and stick around to hear if your name is called as a finalist!
As much as we’d love to meet and hear everyone, we do only have a limited amount of time. We will do our best to get through as many people as we can during the audition period, but please kindly keep in mind that not everyone who arrives will be guaranteed an audition.
What will I receive?
Finalists will be selected by the end of the event to be invited to come to our studio for a private tour and receive a consultation with our casting team! Make sure you stick around to hear if your name is called. If you are not present, you will forfeit your finalist position.
Please note the Open Auditions are offered solely for educational purposes. Participation is not an audition for employment and will not lead to casting opportunities or job offers.
